138th Battle of the Blues Day 1

The 1st day of the 138th battle of the blues began with stc winning the toss and electing to bowl first .A tremendous partnership between H.ramanayake and G.sandeep, and the side support of the “young but talented R jayawardane ,P.sooriyabandara and the keeper K.madarasinghe took the royalists forward “.Stc’s very own K.perera opened bowling for stc,by keeping the run rate at a minimum and ultimately picking up 6 wickets including the royal gladiator R.Jayawardena. We saw some “jaw droping”talent by P.Ratnayake and K. Perera they truly where the unsung heroes that day.

After the lunch break the Royal team had been aroused and where in a aggressive and powerful batting position .R.P Nallaperuma (stc skiper) used a tactical felid setting but due to a few mishaps in the field the rival team scored 255 runs all out .
P.Ratnayeka being a left arm leggy bowled 19 overs and obtained 2 wickets for  68 runs .The confidence of thomian spectators where booming as the opening pair D.Gunawardena and R. Kodithuwakku ended the 1st day with a total of 33 runs for no loss after a day where a total of 82 overs where bowled
